Custody Nurse

2 x Custody Nurse (37 hrs per week)

Based at: St Asaph

Grade: SO2 (£29,878 – £31,620)

(Plus 20% shift allowance & 12.47% weekend working allowance)

North Wales Police is seeking to recruit 2 Custody Nurses, the overall purpose of the role is to provide an effective nursing service to the custody suites, conducting clinical assessments of persons in custody; approved clinical procedures and undertake ongoing health monitoring.Following training, Custody Nurses will be required to provide clinical assessments of persons in custody, implement care plans, and whenever necessary, administer medication, health and behaviour monitoring and clinical care to safeguard the health and welfare of detained persons.The post is peripatetic and the successful applicant will be required to work across the force area.We are looking for experienced Band 5 or Band 6 Nurses who can demonstrate significant A&E / acute medical experience and who have complete confidence in their ability to join our team. Experience of mental health, drug and alcohol issues would be advantageous.It is essential that the successful applicant holds a full UK driving licence.

Forensic Police Vehicle Examiner

Based at the Force Forensic Collision Investigation Unit, St Asaph (POST REF: 14431)

Grade: SO2 (£29,878 – £31,620 per annum)

The successful candidate will provide expert examination and full technical reports on any type of vehicle for the North Wales Police, other police forces and any other agencies as directed and will provide expert opinion and testimony to ensure the  Force meets the criteria laid down in the ACPO Protocol (2013) – Forensic Collision Investigation and Reconstruction within the Police Service.

The selection process will be by way of written knowledge test and practical assessment followed by a structured interview.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants will be required to hold a minumum full car driving licence. Applicants will be required to have a medical assessment and an assessment drive prior to any offer of appointment.

Level 1 Welsh language skills are essential for this post.
